About Me

The devil is in the details. As Director of Web Services at The University of Texas at Dallas, I like working out the details on projects big and small. My mother always told me I asked too many questions, but I just couldn’t help myself. When it comes to the task at hand, I always needs to know the what, why, where, when and how.

Prior to joining UTD, I served as Director of Digital Production and head of the Project Management Office at The Richards Group. There, I was responsible for taking the “impossible” dreams of the strategy and creative teams and finding a way to make it happen, on time and on budget. I’ve managed digital projects for clients including Biltmore, Keurig Dr Pepper, Metro by T-Mobile, and The Home Depot.

As is appropriate for a man who spends most of my time knee-deep in interactive technology, I am a tech geek. When not hard at work, you can usually find me reading up on the newest gadgets, listening to the latest technology podcast or tinkering with some new software. So go ahead, call me a nerd. I’m comfortable with it.

Experience

Sr. Director of Web Services

As Director of Web Services, I oversee the centralized web communications team for the University. This role directly manages a team of content specialists, UX/UI designers and web developers who are responsible for the design and maintenance of the primary UTD website along with most of the major sub-sites and microsites. Additionally, the Director of Web Services works collaboratively with distributed web teams across campus on integration of sites and applications within such disparate groups as research, student affairs, facilities, etc. During my time at UTD, in addition to the primary UTD website, I have led redesign projects for the School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology, the School of Economics, Political and Policy Sciences and the offices of both Undergraduate Admissions and Graduate Admissions.

The Richards Group (TRG) | 2010 – 2018

While the Director of Digital PMO at TRG, I led a team of 12 project managers who were responsible for all digital development projects within the agency along with managing my own individual portfolio of accounts. Each project consisted of a cross-functional team including user experience architects, business analysts, designers, back-end and front-end developers, and quality control analysts. The work included redesigning and maintaining websites for brands such as South University, The Salvation Army, Central Market, and Memorial Hermann Hospital.
